- Add the one-time charges. Example A starts with USD 140.00 in equipment, setup and other one-time costs. Example B has no one-time charges in this example.
- Count the ongoing cost and the full discount. Example A costs USD 34.95 a month including add-ons, with USD 10.00 off the service for its first 3 months. Its total introductory saving is USD 30.00. Example B stays at USD 40.00 a month.
- Compare the same time period. For Example A, USD 140.00 + (USD 34.95 × 12) − USD 30.00 = USD 529.40. Use 24 instead of 12 to get USD 948.80. Example B has no discount or upfront cost, so multiply its monthly price by 12 or 24.
The first year favors Example B because it starts without an upfront charge. Over two years, Example A’s lower ongoing cost makes up that difference. This assumes both plans continue at the entered rates for the full period, with no additional charges. Service suitability and cancellation terms still need a separate check.
Loads Example A and Example B in USD. You can then change a figure and compare again.

What the estimate includes
One-time costs + (regular service + monthly extras) × months − introductory discounts
The discount applies only to the service price, starting in month one, for the shorter of its duration and the comparison period. Monthly extras remain at the amount entered.
This estimate assumes uninterrupted service for 12 or 24 full months at the quoted rates. It is not a checkout quote or a cash-payment schedule. Annual prepayment, price increases, later credits, partial months, cancellation, refund rules and return or non-return fees are not calculated. Taxes and shipping are included only if you enter them. For an annually billed plan, a monthly equivalent will not show the amount due upfront.
